Federico Quaranta racconta un tratto dell' Arco Alpino piemontese, al confine con la Francia, che ha accolto la storia di una piccola comunità: quella valdese, che nel 1500 aderì al Protestantesimo e ha saputo resistere a sei secoli di persecuzioni, senza mai abbandonare le montagne dalla loro genesi fino al 1848 quando furono considerati eretici. Ecco perché la storia dei pastori valdesi può essere considerata l'emblema di tutte le minoranze. Federico Quaranta visits a region of the Alps in Piedmont, on the border with France, that many centuries ago welcomed a small community of religious reformers, the Waldensians, who became Protestants in the 1500s and managed to resist through six centuries of persecution, never leaving these mountains until 1848 when their rights were finally restored to them.
